Business Description

Why it does NOT pursue auto finance: Wells Fargo and other banks have a structural cost-of-funds advantage (~12 basis points) that Berkshire cannot replicate. "We don't bring anything to that party."
Future Strategy: Berkshire will continue acquiring individual dealerships or small groups, but does not expect to exploit national-scale buying advantages from manufacturers.
Name Use: Individual dealers may optionally tag "A Berkshire Hathaway Company" on their materials. Any reputational abuse would result in the name being withdrawn.
